Hi everyone,

When playing back Xvid/divx files (haven't tried with other formats) and I push the << and >> buttons, I get the playback skipping in the wrong direction. For example, if I'm watching a show and push >>, it will skip backward like 15sec or so. This happens more often while the show is still transcoding. Has anyone else noticed this?

I will try to reproduce it and attach some logs...just wondering if it is a common problem.

Thanks
My PVR:
Dell 400sc (really good choice since it's quiet)
P4 2.8ghz
1gb ddr400
PVR150MCE
PVR150
PVR250
Radeon 9600
300+40gb
GBPVR v1.2.13

I get this with recordings off a digital source that have then gone through the ati mux. I found going big skip backwards then a minuted search forward (2 + skip) would mostly sort it out.

As to how to stop it...no idea. I use the mvpmc dongle.

There probably isnt much you're going to be able to do able this. All bets are off when trying to skip/ff/rw etc while this real time transcode is occurring.

Pretty much the only reliable workaround is storing you video files as MPEG2 .mpg files instead of the .avi files. The MVP can only play MPEG1/MPEG2 video files. Other types of files require this on the fly transcoding.

Thanks for the replies.

That's unfortunate...I just thought that it might have been a calculation error since the skip buttons (<< and >>) seem to be some percentage of the total video length.

I will try the MVPMC dongle to see if I get better results with skipping.
