Hi,

Just doing a complete "clean" system rebuild to the latest version of everything and struggling with some of the PVRX2 changes. Severe WAF earache coz she liked the Comunity skin and I could only get some of her favourite items to work under the default "Blue" skin.

I think there's an error in the Solitaire skin as it bombs out on start.

is "<DrawImage filename="..\..\Skin2\Community3\_Menu\background.jpg" loc="0,0" size="720,480"/>

supposed to be "<DrawImage filename="..\..\..\Skin2\Community3\Menu\background.jpg" loc="0,0" size="720,480"/>" ?

Just got to sort out Sudoku now :o

I have Solitaire fixed, in the next release. Will sort out Sudoku as well before I publish it today.

Cheers.

Thanks.

I've moved the main Solitaire task down a few points in my skin because it was partly hiding the title.

Downloaded yesterday's release and installed ok. Notice you've changed the default from the MCE Blue.

Tried using the skin plugin to do some editing but when I ctrl+P, it says it's applying the changes but I then get a .NET error saying "objectdisposeexception". When PVRX2 restarts the changes are not there.

If I change the theme and select say MCE Blue, I don't get the error but whilst the menu's have changed, the background stays at your new default.

Any ideas?

Hmmm. There have been a few reports of backgrounds not changing. I'll have to test things out and see if I can duplicate it. In a pinch, you can browse to the "\Gbpvr\Plugins\SkinPlugin\Resources\Backgrounds" folder and manually copy the background you want to the "\Gbpvr\Skin2\Community3\Menu\" folder and rename that file to Background.jpg.

This is the third report of this type of problem. I'll see if I can come up with a reason it doesn't work. It may be that my Laptop has a compressed volume and something monkeys with that?

Doh! Just realised that my version of the skinplugin is 3.0.0. Downloaded the latest version. Hadn't spotted it had changed coz the revision date in the Wiki says 27th Jan 2007.

Results are erratic when trying to change the skins. I'm seeing a lot of "Copy failed" messages in the helper.exe.log. Many of them are around copying to a "_taskimages\custom" directory which doesn't exist on my system (it's a clean install). There is a Custom directory but it's created in the "skin2\community3" root.

Many of the Bluemen .png that are trying to be copied don't exist either.

There are also copy fail messages for files which seem to have valid source & destinations. No indication as to why the copy has failed.

I'll do some more testing and see if I can provide further info.

Update:

I've attached a list of the failed copy tasks. There seem to be a few common issues.

The first few are likely to be caused by typos (too many late nights ? Smile)

Some are missing destination directory.
Others are where the source .png file doesn't exist or may exist with a different name e.g. Music_task.png doesn't exist but Music.png does.

Hope this helps

I wouldn't doubt late nights. Many of the task image errors are just secondary errors. The plugin is designed to look for generic task images (say, Music.png) and copy them to all the music plugins I identified. Now, if someone made a specific BlueMen MusicLibrary2 plugin, called MusicLibrary2_Task.png, it will copy that one. Many plugin named task images don't exsist. There is logic in there in case there does. That is the reason for most of the errors.

There are clearly some errors I do need to fix otherwise, however, thank you for sharing your results.

Appreciate your help whilst I struggle with my system rebuild (and some of the skin syntax.)

Hairy's theme looks cool!

Noticed the failed copy of the background image seems to occur when I ctrl+P from the skin plugin in the PVRX2 interface. If I run the skinhelper exe directly without PVRX2 running, the file gets copied ok.

I also often get a .NET "objectdisposeexception" error just after PVRX2 shutdown when I ctrl+P in the skin plugin. When this occurs, PVRX2 doesn't auto restart and has to be re-started manually. Can't understand this error as it's not consistent (doesn't happen every time). I'm wondering if it's a timing issue. Im running under an AMD Athlon 64 4200 proc which is certainly no slouch.

WAF is happy now Solitaire & SuDoku are back. She's picky though and asked is it really spelt "Solitarie"? :p

Sorry....don't shoot the messanger

Yeah, something is amiss.

I thought that is how they spelled it in the UK?? :p You guys move the letter "E" around an a whim.

Either that or it is an old fashioned case of alcohol+computer geeks not being able to spelt good. You can edit the skin.xml file in \gbpvr\skin\solitaire\
with notepad and change this line..
Code:
<DrawTextWithOutline text="[B][color=Red]Solitaire[/color][/B]" loc="15,5" size="600,55" fillColor="ScreenName" borderColor="GeneralOutline" outlineWidth="1" textStyle="ScreenNameStyle" align="Left" />
