I hadn't heard about this and it might be interesting if you could get it really cheap. The biggest problem is that with the Sigma Designs EM8622L it isn't as good as the PCH, it is previous generation like the SageTV extender. The boot process doesn't have a high WAF either.

I am also really enjoying the linux 2.6.15 kernel and MIPS processor over 2.4 with the slower ARM CPU which I assume this uses so it isn't something I want to take on.
