Hi all just signed up and very excited about this new technology. I have two
questions, 1. Can I not just watch TV from a direct connection from my DishNet receiver without the need for the EPG setup, I can do this with WinTV that came with my Hauppauge 350 and then record TV manually.
2. If I pay for a listing service will they be able to list channels for the DishNet TV programs. I find all this EPG stuff a bit overwhelming for the time being and would just like to view and record manually if that is possible.

Most of GB-PVR is really designed around the EPG so if you dont want to supply one, then its probably not the best app for you intended usage. If you just want to watch TV, then you might be better off just using the WinTV software.
