For some reason, if I leave my HTPC running for a few days, watching long recordings (1 hour+) can be a bear. Meaning that when I fast forward or when there is a commercial skip, the screen will blank for up to 45-60 seconds. Then the recording continues. It seems that if I restart the computer, this doesn't happen.

I'm not sure what the problem is, but restarting the computer seems to be my best bet. I'd like to do this automatically, by using PortUpdateEPG.bat and the shutdown.exe -r command, but I don't want to do it if I would happen to be recording something at the time.

Any suggestions?

What happens if you restart the recording service or PVRX2.exe? Does your problem continue? Restarting your whole PC seems kind of extreme...

I don't know... I've never tried it. I'm lazy and just go to the Restart option on the system tab.

I can see if just restarting the recording service or PVRX2.exe is the problem though.

You can use SlimmGBPVR to check for in progress recording before restart computer with PostUpdateEPG.bat.

Dan L.

REM Check for recording in progress
gbpvrcli.exe /inprogress 1 /mes "{Status}\n{Title}\n{DescriptionNoWrap}\n\n" > %checkfile%

find "progress" %checkfile%
