What about all those other TextStyle definitions that are in BLUE but not Community3? Can I add those too?

If you notice, some are duplicates, and the I replaced ScreenName by using ScreenNameStyle from the baseskin.xml file.

That leaves these two as the only others (and I don't know what they are for).

Code:
<TextStyle name="ProgrammeTitle" color="White" typeFace="Tahoma" size="13" style="bold"/>
<TextStyle name="SelectedGeneralText" color="Yellow" typeFace="Tahoma" size="13" style="bold"/>

I would change those to read like this..

Code:
<TextStyle name="ProgrammeTitle" color="General" size="13"/>
<TextStyle name="SelectedGeneralText" color="Yellow" size="13"/>

By removing the typeface and style, it pulls from the default style in the baseskin.xml file.

I'll add those back in just in case.

I did a quick search through the XGuide code and didn't spot where ProgrammeTitle is used but I could have missed it. The SelectedGeneralText is used when drawing the recording popup so it's better not to delete it.

I don't know if Kevl has found a solution for the blocky fonts. I'm still using gbpvr (as opposed to pvrx2) and I don't have a font problem.

Hi

Re blocky fonts:

I never got to the bottom of the cause but I dont run PVRX2 for other reasons. I think the blocky fonts are only observed on PVRX2 setups.

You could try asking Sub if he has any ideas. Maybe there is a fix.

Are the blocky fonts caused by the fact that XSuite is a legacy plugin using skins in the skin directory instead of the skin2 directory? How much work is required (skinning and coding) to port an old plugin to the new pvrx2 standard? If it's relatively easy and would fix the fonts then it might be worth it to move XSuite to pvrx2.

I asked sub and he responded with this:
[INDENT][INDENT]I'm fairly sure the problem you're describing is because XSuite is an old style plugin, designed back when GBPVR.exe was the main user interface, and always rendered to a low fixed resolution (usually 720x480).

PVRX2.exe done away with that limitation and now plugins render internally to the same resolution as your desktop, giving the sharpest possible fonts. The plugins needed to be updated to support these new features though, or they would be run in a legacy compatibility mode and continue to draw their own screens as 720x480, which gives you these nice blocky fonts you see.

These old plugins that generate low resolution screens behave a little differently in GBPVR.exe vs PVRX2.exe. This different relates to the way the low resolution screen is stretched to fullscreen. In GBPVR.exe they typically look blurry. In PVRX2.exe they can look a little more blocky (because of the way their videocard stretches Direct3D textures to fill the screen). Either way though, these screens never looked crisp and clear, and the only way for the problem to be resolved is for the plugin to be updated to support the new rendering model of PVRX2 plugin - this would give sharp clean text.[/INDENT][/INDENT]
