Hopefully this is the support forum for the EWA too :o

I've searched for this type of error but haven't found an answer yet.
I had v 0.72 before this one and sometimes when I tried to mark a show to record later on, it just told me 'Recording failed' (I think it was this anyway)
so now I upgraded to 0.73 thinking this would go away and it has, kinda
now I don't even get the record button, just a 'Close - take no action'

What am I missing here or doing wrong?
can't find any conflicts either.

If it all is correct doing this, it sure would be nice with a little text telling me why this is

The record button will not show if the programme is already set to record or is recorded.

Are you saying the only button you have when you click on the detail is close take no action?

oh.. I gotta say that I use Hauppauge WinTV PVR 500 MCE.

yeah, that's what I'm saying, and no matter what I'm trying to record.
I figured it had to be something with Conflicts, but I tried to make a recoding of a program waaay out of "normal" time that I usually do record and it still gave me just that 'Close' button.

I just tried again to do a recoding and now it worked, I got all buttons that I "liked" lol
When the "error" happened I know I had two recordings in queue, but the time of them didn't overlap and the one I tried to queue up to record did not make it more than two shows at the same time.

If you need more info, lemme know what to "grab" and I'll get it to ya

When you got the problem were you running EWA on the local gbpvr machine, across a lan or over the internet?

I've seen a problem like that when I wasn't properly logged in to EWA (another symptom is that the Config tab is not visible).

I use EWA on the same machine as I have the Hauppauge in. (nowadays I only use this PC for viewing tveps that I record/viewing... using TV is old, lol)

so it's no "over the net" use at all and I can see and use/login to the config TAB

that didn't help much did it?

This is a new one.....I have only seen this happen when something has gone bad in the gbpvrrecording service.....i.e. not stopping the service prior to updating or changing anything in the web directory.

If you can consistently have this happen (i.e. you bring up the details 2-3 times in a row and are only seeing that button) copy your gbpvr.db3 file somewhere and then post back that you have something that consistently is occuring. I can setup an FTP account for you to send me your gbpvr.db3 file and I can debug here....or it will work here....which would be my guess.

This sounds like some sort of system issue....when you only see the cancel button EWA is not getting the programme or recording information back from the gbpvr API that provides the calls and data from GBPVR.

What are the system specs that you are running on? CPU speed & Memory

Just did a fresh install of xp and gbpvr, and I got the same issue - only a close button.

I'll post if i find a solution.
