Ubustream in PVRX2

I don't know if this has already been reported but Ubustream seems to work pretty well in GB-PVR but in PVRX2 the audio stutters badly and the text is very jagged and lo-res. It's as if there is zero buffering. I've played with a number of settings to no avail and when I go back to GB-PVR it seems to work fine. Any suggestions please?

Also, can anyone please explain the difference between Preview Play and Timeshift Play? The Timeshift part doesn't seem to work.

There shouldn't be any difference between GBPVR and PVRX2 as far as playback is concerned. They both use the same code (dlls etc.) to do media playback. Any stuttering you're experiencing may be to do with the extra overhead required to run PVRX2.

Also, can anyone please explain the difference between Preview Play and Timeshift Play? The Timeshift part doesn't seem to work.

This is pretty well documented in the UbuStream README file (in the notes for 2.1). It is also discussed in various threads in this sub-forum (try using the Search capability). Timeshift Play is only available for those streams that can be transcoded to mpeg on the fly. This is not true for all streams.

I take your point about the higher overhead for PVRX2, but hope that's not the reason since I really like the Ubustream features and can't afford a better PC. It is a 2 GHz Athlon, and I have a good video card (256 MB). Would more RAM help (I have 512 MB)?

Also, why the jagged type? I seem to remember there is a screen resolution setting somewhere in the config. Would that make a difference?

I also run a 2 Ghz athlon and 256mb video card although I do have 1g ram. Ubu runs fine for me. The ram may be your issue.
