SkinPlugin/CommunitySkin wishlist.

Having finally updated the CommunitySkin v3.0 to handle most of the plugins out there, McBainUK, Hairy, and myself would like to here from users about ideas that can make these better. This thread is in the Developers area so it doesn't clutter the announcements thread.

Is there anything that could be done to the SkinPlugin or CommunitySkin to make user changes easier/better?

Ok, I think the most obvious thing is that there are many requests on to increase font size.

We could create larger font baseskin.xml files or have the skinplugin alter the DefaultTextStyle font size in the current baseskin.xml file.

I'm currently looking in to this. My idea is to allow the SkinPlugin (and themes) to set default font size and colours:

• Default font size
  
• Screen name font style
  
• Default font style
  
• Screen Name color
  
• Default text color
  
• Unselected Text Color
  
• Selected Text Color
  
• SelectedInactive Text Color
  
• Bold Text Color

What do you think are sensible options for font names, colours and sizes?

I would suspect for size options, 13pt thru 18pt. may be a decent range.
Colours:
White
Black
Yellow
Orange

Fonts:
Arial
Tahoma
Verdana
the font used in Sassari (cannot remember name off hand.)

As long as the list of choices is able to be edited, we can add as themes develop, or as users request.

What happens if a font is named but it's not available on the system?

• Size of the "current position" label in the media library type screens is too small. I have 477 artist folders, once I pass 99 it starts to wrap.
  
• The "plugin homepage" link on the SkinPlugin installer is wrong.
  
• Some of the task images mappings seem to be wrong, would need some investigation and checking of the SkinPluginConfig.xml file in order to bring it up-to-date.

• Panels on the main menu (and the ability to turn them on/off like in you used to be able to do).
  
• Ablity to change the TV Guide type (eg numbers shown or not etc).
  
• Hairy to make more cool image sets and themes .

I tend to use Net Radio more than the music library. Is there any way to pull the song name from net radio for display in the screen saver?

Going off of memory here, it seems like there may need to be something you need to set in the config.xml file. I believe sub has discussed this in the past.

Something about media player?? Try a forum search until I can track it down, or ask sub.

The CommunitySkin should act just like blue in this case.
