Twinhan Starbox 7021 channel scan?

Hello,

i understand that this usb card is not widely used... but i have read some threads with some successful attempts using GBPVR.

i love the interface of GBpvr and i would like to get my media center up and running using it with my twinhan starbox..

but im having one issue.
when i scan for channels, nothing is coming out of the scan, i have read these forums for 2 weeks now with no luck and no response in other threads, can anyone help? i am assuming that it is a driver issue... but im not sure at this point...

(im running emunation with it in the MDplugins folder)

Try doing a scan then zip and attach config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

when my starbox wouldnt scan was because i had the wrong lnb settings(check the numbers on your lnb or look at the program that did scan and see what the lnb setting was)
also checkthat you have the correct sat selected
then once i did it going i had to cut holes in the casing cause it was over heating (would record fine for 10 mins then cut out if you google you will find other people with this issue)

Hey Sub,

ive zipped both files and uploaded.
i am scanning nimiq1 and i am duplicating all the settings as in MT and using it to check if the box and emunation are working correctly...

just to clarify as well,
where do the emunation files go exactly?
i want to make sure i put them in the proper location
i am running driver 1.0.3.4

if another driver is used successfully, please let me know, i have tried numerous ones

The logs show no errors, but the device never manages to lock onto any signal. I'd have to go with stustunz suggestion about the lnb settings being the most likely cause.

Alternative, if you're using a diseqc switch, GB-PVR not be compatible with it using this Twinhan device.

well this is weird... and i have never really figured out why...

but mytheatre, and fortec (used to) work with my diseq installed with no settings changed, but i am running only 1 lnb. i can try tonight when i get home to take off the diseq and put a coax coupler and scan again.

ill take a screeny of my settings as well if that doesnt go over well

There is no standards around how device manufacturers implement support for diseqc in there driver, so you pretty much have to implement a different proprietary mechanism for each and every device manufacturer. GB-PVR does generally have diseqc support for Hauppauge, FireDTV and Twinhan devices, but sometimes they implement different schemes for different devices. mytheatre could be supporting the specific scheme use on this device.


Try updating your bda.ini entry to contain the following:

TUNING_TYPE=DVB-S
SUPPORTS_BDA_DISEQC=4
RECEIVER_ONLY_MODE=1
FILTER_RECEIVER=DTV-DVB UDST7020BDA DVB-S Receiver

PIN_RECEIVER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

It may or may not help, but is worth trying.

also check you have the powered lnb ticked
also make sure no other programs are using the device at the time of scanning

Hi guys,

i took off the diseq, and scanned with no luck.

i took some screen shots of my settings in the config just incase you guys see anything im missing.

also, just a question
why is there two Nimiq1 options?

one is 'Nimiq1', and the other is listes as 'Galaxy 11 & Nimiq1, 3'

none of the BDA Advanced settings are ticked off.

i about to try the bin mod you suggested now and see what happens...
