Sad The MVPTrayIcon isn't working for me with the latest release. There doesn't appear to be an error in the log... just no icon in the system tray any longer.

Anyone ideas?

You may need to set the service to 'allow service to interact with desktop'.

Yes of course. This must have been reset with the new install. Excellent... thanks!

I've done this but still get an error? Was OK on XP, but now on VISTA...

Sorry, I missed both these replies. I dont often read the plugin forums.

It looks like the plugin is throwing an exception in its constructor. Its hard to guess what the cause would be. The author of plugin would probably need to look into it.

I'm not sure what causes this exception to be thrown, although I'm pretty sure it's coming from GBPVR.exe/PVRX2.exe rather than the plugin itself.

Which version are you running, GBPVR or PVRX2?

My guess is that the application is calling an interface function in the plugin that I didn't implement ...

I've just done a clean install of Windows XP SP3 on a new machine and installed GBPVR 1.2.13.
I now can't get the MVP Tray Icon to show. Set to interact with desktop is on, dll file is in a plugin sub directory, C+ distibutable is added and .NET2 (with all patches)

I get the following error log.
2008-06-16 00:11:24.453 INFO [1] loadNewStylePlugins()...

Any ideas.

It's still working fine on my old machine where I'd upgraded from 1.2.9 to 1.2.13

You've probably seen a few threads with my handle on it where I have a similar (unresolved as of this post) issue. Apart from the "Interact with Desktop" setting for GBPVRRecordingService and the Plugin Setting (if you use an MVP) "<MVPLoadPluginsEarlier>true</MVPLoadPluginsEarlier>" in the config.xml, I have no further advice.

I tried to contact Major Hostility, but with no success. Like you, it worked in XP and it worked with the prior version.

Lets hope something turns up; I love the wee tray icons and don't need otehr plugins which offer a similar function, but also have a lot of other functions I do not need.

Cheers

k.
