Couple of questions:
- I prefer the GBPVR menu style to the rolling menus in PVRX2 - is that tweakable via themes?

- the GBPVR main screen has a "next recording/now playing" etc panel, again is that something that can be added to PVRX2?

Thanks - Lindsay

You could try the suggestion here and see how you get on.

As far as I know the only panel implemented in PVRX2 so far is the now playing panel for music and net radio. It's inclusion suggests that sub will probably implement others in further releases, while some panels (I think) will be down to the individual plugin developers themselves.

If you do decide to disable the scrolling animation on the main menu and it has the desired effect, could you let us know - just for future reference for others Smile

Not really - It does change the scrolling from a roll to a flick, but I was really looking for a cursor moving up and down the menu, rather than a rolling menu.

Not to worry - I suspect it would require a rework of the pvrx2 menu internals to accomodate it.

Thanks - Lindsay

Yeah I didn't think so, my post was more akin to a desperate Hail Mary pass Smile

Hairy has been spot on with the answers, including the ones about panels. Plugin authors are just now "re-exposed" to adding panels on the main menu.

Aside from the weather plugin, there are not many PVRX2 plugins that would use one.

Possibly (since I have no clue), a plugin author could write a standalone "Now recording, Pending recording" or more advanced "Now Playing" panel with album art. I don't know the in's and out's as to how it wold work.

These type of panels would certainly be possible (but I won't be doing it :p ).

The weather and "recording now/recording soon" panels are what I hope for, but I also have no clue how to author them.

I think the Video Archive panel from gbpvr had everything.
What, me worry?

Thanks all, I guess in my copious free time (hah!) I could have a stab at a front panel plugin.

I just don't know where Sub gets the time - I stand in awe.
