I think it would be great if GBPVR would recognize digital channels that share the same TS Stream and allow recording of multiple programs without requiring another tuner. Or at least record an entire MUX now that the the NMT's support multiple PMT's in playback.

you can record the entire ts, just select the ts-mux. sadly you have to schedule manually and have to take care which channels are on the same stream. and you obviously record all channels for the full time period...

So what information does the tuning request require to do this?

No, thats incorrect. There is currently no ability to record a full transport stream.

Thats what I thought. Hope thats on a list of things to add. probably first eneabling the capability and then later setting up logic to handle choosing when/how to record channels in the same stream, I don't know if you can separate them in real time. But recording them and then proccessing the stream into separate recordings afterwards could be an option.

It would be interesting to have a multichannel test ts file to see how the NMT works with it. Also on live TV it would be neat testing sending the full stream to the nmt to see if it can handle the full 38mbit stream.

To be honest, its probably not going to happen any time soon, and if it did I would probably have it record each channel to separate a transport stream file (compability with multidec etc).

I didn't think it would, I don't think any of the Tivo/DVR solutions do this yet either. so far only TSReader is the only windows app I've found that can do it, just rather expensive. I was looking to see if there were any tuner cards that came with it so it would be more justified on the price.

The HDHomeRun can record an entire transport stream with it's command line app.

have you dumped that in the recent releases? i've played with a 0.99.x version with the ts mux & recorded a full stream. could only play it back with VLC to select the right ps (so yeah, it's a PITA, not worth the trouble with tuners so cheap Wink) but it was possible...
