Hi all - a quick question...I have a brand spanking new high-spec small form PC. I'm about to buy the Hauppauge 350 card to shove in. What I want to do, and I can't find the definitive answer if this is possible in these forums, is have the TV stuff output to the TV (with GB-pvr) from s-video to scart, and have windows show on a monitor....so I can watch/record TV, whilst using windows on the PC at the same time. Could someone confirm this is all going to work ok?? many thanks. Charlie.

There should not be a problem with this. I use it almost this way (although only for debugging purposes, restarting and such), but I have the pvr-350 connected via s-vhs to s-vhs on my tv, and the tv-out on my motherboard to the one of the scart-ins on my tv. No problem there.
I'm not always right

I have a similar question and have not been able to find an answer on these forums or elsewhere. Is it possible to display the GB-PVR output on a Hauppauge 350 TV-Out AND on a PC window at the same time? I've found when I switch to 350 TV-Out, the display is not available on my PC. Is there a way to get a display on both at the same time? Thanks.

No, you have to choose one or the other.

Thanks sub. That's what I suspected, but had to ask. Thanks for putting together such a fantastic program. Great job!

Some cards would let you use them in "Clone" mode, which means that what you see on the PC screen is also what you see on the TV-out of the card.
It is not the TVout of the 350, though...

I've been testing this on my PC. That is:
- monitor (primary) + GB-PVR on my CRT via the S-Video ouput
- I have Digital Terrestrial TV Tuner VisionPlus VisionDTV Twinhan

Re Quality - One issue I'm seeing is that the quality on the TV is just not that great. Its OK but not great. I asked a local computer salesman and he suggested it wouldn't be likely that a new graphics card would assist (re quality from video output to CRT). I'm going to keep testing and depending on the output may consider spending more $$ for the MediaMVP (also to take some load off the PC I think)

Re dual monitor concept - still going to keep testing to see if this will be logistically a problem re have person A in room X watching TV, with person B in room Y using PC. One thing I found annoying re use of Windows Media Player (haven't tested for GB-PVR yet) for example was that you could run it full screen on the TV but as soon as you use the PC (using the monitor) windows media player jumps from full screen mode to normal maximised mode on the TV - unfortunate behaviour.
