I am having a really hard time getting this to work. It seems GBPVR thinks its an HDTV5 and wont tune any channels.

I need something that will work with the QAM 256 stations as well. Not sure if it will work with GBPVR but its worth a shot.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

The filter names for this card are an exact match with the Fusion HDTV5, so you can make your capture source using the 'Dvico FusionHD 5 Gold (QAM)'. From GB-PVRs point of view there is no difference.

If it doesnt find any channels you may need to try using one of the alternative qam.ini files whurlston posted.

Thanks for your help thus far. I was hoping you could help out an HTPC noob.

First off, I did a search for qam.ini files by whurlston. but there are no explanations on how to use them. I am reading on the wiki about how to change the ini files but it seems you need to use graphedit or something and I got lost in the process.

Thus far what I have tried to do is download the files from here:
http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=2...stcount=25

and put them in my
C:\Program Files\Devnz\GBPVR\BDA\ATSC
directory.

Then I configure the Digital Recorder as DVICO HDTV 5 QAM

Then I go into the the configure.exe and try to scan. But now my schedules direct info give me this error.
"Your EPG does not seem to be configured correctly. Please check the EPG Source settings and try again. System.Net.WebException the remote server returned an error (401)..." - which I assume means that its not connecting to the right webpage if its giving a 401 error. I went to Schedules Direct's website and logged in just fine.

without the EPG I cant try to tune. If I go back to my orginal qam.ini file I just cant find any channels when I scan (still using HDTV 5 QAM).

This 401 error shouldnt have anything to do with the changed qam.ini file. A 401 error is being returned from the Schedules Direct server to tell you the username/password supplied is incorrect.

If you reproduce the problem then zip and attach the logs then I'll take a look.

ah my schedules direct membership expired. I hoped I could use the free account but apparently it only lasts a few weeks.

They don't have any "free" accounts, only a 7 day free trial.
