Ok, I'm at a total loss here. I cannot get the Web page to come up at all.

I'm running a clean install of Vista Ultimate.

I've installed GBPVR 1.2.9 clean
VC 2005 redist is installed
I've confirmed that .NET 2.0 is installed
Windows Firewall is OFF
I've tried changing the port from 7647 to 7777

Everything was installed as administrator.

Live TV works just fine, and I can see the tv guide from within PVRX2.

I know I'm missing something stupid, I just can put my finger on it, was hoping for a bit of help.

thanks!

If it makes you feel any better, I've not had any luck with EWA and 1.2.9 but have in the past. It works fine for me in XP but not in Vista. However, the earlier version of EWA works just fine. So I'm back to that for now.

Try going into the control panel -> administrative tools -> services -> GB-PVR Recording Service properties, and enable the 'allow service to interact with desktop'. This worked for another user.

Hmmm, didn't work for me. I'm going to try to reinstall and see what happens. I never would have thought of that anyway.

Do you get an error or what? I am running EWA on vista without issue.

I do have user account control turned off.

The first thing I did when I installed Vista was turn off that PITA UAC.
It simply times out. The strange thing is that it doesn't wait very long before timing out. No error message.
I've tried changing the port but had no luck. I don't know why but I still feel it's being blocked. But I turned the firewall off and still no joy. I am suspicious of Bitdefender because it works on the XP side but I'm using AVG there. However, the previous version seemed to work fine with Bitdefender.
Actually, I have no idea what the problem is but it sure acts like it's being blocked.

No luck with that either. I think I tried that after reading an earlier post.
I'm going to do a uninstall/reinstall of gbpvr and see what happens.

Thanks....I wanted to see if perhaps it had anything to do with the new Ajax libraries...the RSS pages don't use the calls so that rules that out.
