DVB-S Mapping Problem

Hi all,

Going through a major rebuild!

running 1.2.9 Release on an MCE 2005 based O/S.

Have set up STB successfully as 1 capture source.

I have 2 x DVB-S capture cards available, 1 FiredTV, other Hauppauge Nova-S +

Initially, after success with the STB, I installed the FiredTV device. Everytime I tried mapping channels GBPVR Config hung. Giving a .NET problem.

I thought it may be a driver problem and so have spent the last 3 days installing-re-installing etc

Then I thought if was a problem with the FiredTV device I'd try installing the Nova-S as a capture source. Voila same problem, hangs on identical issue, strangely enough when it hits the 'God Channel', does this mean me and God have no chance?

Reproduce the problem, then zip and attach the config.exe.log and config.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Hi Sub,

cleared all logs and tried again.

I get an 'Unhandled exception error' pop up for .NET.

2 x Log Files attached plus MCE Error Report

Unfortunately I cant see anything obvious in those logs.

I suspect its something about the data in that one particular transport stream that GB-PVR doesnt like. It'd be next to impossible to guess what exactly though.

Do you have access to a web server? If so, I could get you to make a 100MB or so full TS recording from that frequency and I could try running it up here in the debugger.

holding my breath but the scanning appears to have got past the 'God Channel'.

Therefore patch seems to be good.

Once again I thank you for your great Prog.

Once again I think it could be easier than this for world wide domination!

OK,

the patch got me past the config hanging but when I scan there are channels missing.

DVB-S Scan. I know the channels are there and active because STB is showing them. I scan and particularly BBC3, BBC4, just do not show in the scan? Anyone in the UK running DVB-S?

BBC 3 and 4 only broadcast after 7pm. Are you scanning at the right time?

yeh past experience has taught me to scan for these after 19.00 so I waited all day but still no luck. Will try again tonight.
