Definitely not dvr-ms. I use TS Mux but sub has said he has to fix it for some streams when he has some more time and it is harder to setup on the PC.

It is installed automatically with GB-PVR.

Actually I've read a couple of things in the libhdhomerun thread that makes me think its not a problem in the TS files that GB-PVR recording, but rather a bug in the PCH that doesnt like the way some ATSC streams are identified in the transport streams generated by the broadcaster. The fix would the same as previously suggested though, with me having to rewrite the PMT header in the stream to make it compatible with what the PCH could play.

Why is that? Doesn't the PCH play DVR-MS?

No it is yet another proprietary MS format.

There is a difference, at least with the file I sent you. When I saved the stream with TSReader it plays on the PCH, when it is saved with TS Mux there is no audio.

OK, so if there's no sound with the TS Mux then what's the solution? Cyberlink to mpg? I guess I'm confused now...I kinda thought that the PCH was pretty much a super MVP but it sounds like that may not be the case. I haven't followed all the PCH discussions so perhaps this has already been discussed...

OTOH, I have an HD-DVR on order (I think) so once I get it most of the HD recording will be in H.264 format (at least that's my understanding) but I still may do some OTA ATSC recordings.

All this stuff is pretty confusing to the somewhat casual user. I think we have too many standards... Smile

All my TS Mux recordings work fine here, so not always a problem. I think its something to do with transport stream recordings where an unneeded audio stream was dropped at recording time, but header not being updated to say that audio stream isnt present in the file. This is perfectly valid, and they play fine on the PC, but the NMT does like it, and doesnt seem to let you switch to the audio stream that is present.

The HD-PVR produces .ts files. The TS Mux recordings I've done with the HD-PVR work fine, and give the correct audio.
