NMT wiki entry

guys... we should really work on getting the wiki updated for the NMT...

I would like a bit of input first though,

Do we want to make a new category on the wiki for "Clients"?
have one nice page for the native (gbpvr on a PC) client, then subcategories for the MVP and the NMT?

While were at it we should probably break the MediaMVP page up into smaller bite size chunks (or at least two pages)

There is lots of room for documentation on the NMT, including setup (and the various ways to do it), remote reference, troubleshooting.

May I suggest a set of NMT pages in the Hardware section, alongside the MediaMVP. Start them of with a main NMT page followed by NMT_setup etc.

I just realized that you wrote "section" but I read "WikiGroup". Since a WikiGroup is implemented as a folder on the server, yes its a pain to migrate those. I also believe that NMT is hardware and is appropriatly placed in the hardware WikiGroup alongside the MediaMVP.

But, and this is a big BUT, we can still visually show the pages as we like in the left side bar, and in the rest of the wiki.
So if you by "section" meant "a visible distinct area" (e.g. in the left sidebar) I have no objections, totally agree and beg your pardon.

blader_se, how many sub-sections can we have on the nav pane? What if we have a clients sub-section and then list pc, mvp, and nmt as a sub-section of clients? Would that be too granular?

We could then have a clients list linked on the hardware page as well and remove the mvp from the "other" listing.

that was all that I really meant, to have a distinct area in the wiki sidebar for clients, so that people would actually be able to find the information for clients. I guess we would want the main page to link to a page under the configuration wikigroup? I will look into that. no pardon is necessary

what you are talking about is exactly what I wanted to do... I think we should get started on doing that (behind the scenes, no major updates to commonly visible pages yet.)

I believe the skin is setting the hierarchical limit here, based on the single section nature of the PmWiki I say the limit is one sub section.

It is possible to tweak the layout to get more, you just don't get the folding possibilities "for free". I'd say it's mostly a balance between making direct links available and keeping the total length of the side bar at a manageable level.
