I am setting up a new pvr and am using GB-PVR as a first time user!

My pc has 2 Hauppauge nova hd-s2 cards.

I have a sky card and a reader, so am going to use MDAPI to enable my reader and decode my channels - I think I am ok with how to do this.

I just wondered if it is possible to also get ITV HD... I know that this is a freesat only channel, but as it is on the same sat band as sky I was hoping I could tune it in ok and watch...

I have kicked off my scan based on Astra 2a, 2b, 2d.. I noticed that eurobird is not in the list...

Can I get ITV HD in amongst the regular sky pull?

thanks

Yes you can get ITV HD but it takes a bit of fiddling, you need to find and edit your scan-blah.cache file in the BDA subdir of the gbpvr directory, and add the following line to it:

T:11426,H,27500,23~NID:59~ONID:2~TSID:2315~P:10510~V:3401~VTYPE:H264~A:3402~L:eng(AC3):3400~TXT:2353~PCR:3401~N:>ITV HD

Then go into config, capture sources, map channels, and then assign the above from the box on the left to a channel. I picked some other ITV region to my own and added that as a channel so I could get ITV HD to appear as a channel in the TV guide. Not ideal, but it works.

Thanks Jon - another quickie while my pc is still scanning for channels (takes ages and I have to do it twice with 2 tuners!)

On my first scan some channels dont seem to have been found - Dave, BBC2 England (I have scotland and wales!)

They may have been found, but just under a diff name - will compare with the 2nd tuner scan... but is there any way to add in the ones that are missing if they do seem to be, or do I need to find the TSID and types etc and add manually like with ITV HD (taking the details from lyngsat or similar)

As sat details are the same, is there anywhere that you can simply download a working list for all the sky channels and import to GBPVR - even better, anything that could then work like a plugin and update the freq's if they changed??

cheers

Hi Bob, Dave's encrypted isn't it? But yeah if they're missing pretty much the only way is to add them manually to the cache file then they'll appear, I got the details from lyngsat for the ones I was missing. Not aware of any plugin like that - unfortunately - it's a right old faff at the moment if freqs change. I lost BBC HD for days the other week because the BBC changed the PIDs. You have to keep an eye on digital spy forums for info like that, I've learned!

I can attach my (edited) scan cache file if it's any use to you? It's just the channels I'm interested in though, so it's pretty well trimmed down. Saying that I still have, and can attach a full version as well if you like.

Jon.

Ah - thanks for that - I've been faffing around for ages trying to sort it out. Not helped by my videomate s350 not scanning properly.

if you could attach your scan, and the full version too that would be great!

another basic query - as I have 2 tuners, is there any way to get 1 tuned in and mapped, then just to duplicate the entry for the other one too rather than doing a 2nd scan and then having to map and align everything??

Thanks again

No, not really. You could copy the scan cache file so you dont have to do the scan, but you'd still have to do the mapping.

Here you go, you'll need to rename them to match yours.
