Hi everybody,

I just bought a MSI TV@nywhere Pro (not to be mistaken by 'Plus') tv-card thinking it would be an OK card to get started with. But it seems I am mistaken since I can't get it to work with GBPVR and I've been reading the forums encountering more problems with (slightly different) MSI cards.

edit: http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=...cat_no=132 (link to msi product page)

It is not supported by default it seems. I've tried adding a Recording Source manually by adding a new device in direct.ini (see config below with comments). It's probably not correct or complete but I can't figure out a lot more. I also tried the checkbox "Only show devices detected in this machine" after I of course installed the drivers. "No known cards detected in this machine" as a result.

Attached you'll find my filtercheck.log. Could anybody help me in the right direction if I still have a chance of succeeding?

Help is greatly appreciated!

direct.ini config (comments between "()"):

[MSI TV@nywhere Pro]
(FILTER_TUNER=...)
(no entry under "BDA Source Filters" using GraphEdit; used )
FILTER_CAPTURE=713x BDA Digital Capture
(found using GraphEdit)
SUPPORTS_FM_RADIO=1
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

I'm not sure if this card will be usable in GB-PVR.

You could try copying the PVR250 section in direct.ini, then update every line to have the correct name, then give it a go. With an analog device like this, in GraphEdit you need to look in the 'WDM Streaming Capture', 'WDM Streaming Crossbar' etc sections, not the BDA sections.

I'm doubting it myself but I why not give it a try. Wink

Ok, did that. Live TV does not respond yet with the following settings:

Try viewing live tv, then zip and attach the pvrx2.exe.log and pvrx2.exe-native.log and I'll take a look.

Thanks for the help.

I've backed up the olg logs in a rar and started a new log by starting Live TV so the log wouldn't be too cluttered. Next to the two new logs, they are included as "old logs.rar".

Quote:2008-07-02 23:05:10.093 VERBOSE [1] GBPVR.Backend.Common.GbpvrException: No channels have been set up. Please run the Configuration utility and setup the EPG source. Use the 'Update EPG' button to force the system to import the latest set of channel and programme information.
It looks like your capture doesnt have an EPG set up, so there is no channels to view.

Thanks, that helped me get a bit further. Sorry for the n00bness on that one Wink
Got into the Live TV now with the channels now configured. Got nothing but a black screen though. Logs attached.

Most likely this one is the most definite(?):

"Attempted to read buffered device data from a device that is not buffered. & There is no common media type between these pins."

I'm not sure if it'll help or not but you could try setting INIT_MODE=DEFAULT in your direct.ini section.
