I was wondering if this was only on my setup. It takes a while to come up on the server to make changes, but that isn't my concern. My concern is when I open movie wiz within GBPVR from my PCH (the only place I use it), it takes a while to come up. I'm not talking minutes, but enough to start second guessing that I pressed enter on my remote. Once it comes up, it runs smooth and there are no issues at all. It's not a big deal, but I just wanted to know if everyone has this or is there something wrong with my setup.

Could you compress upload your GBPVR logs? Also could you try with incremental updates turned off in the config.xml just in case it is getting stuck doing a screen refresh?

How many entries do you have in the database? (you should be able to tell from the MovieWizManager (manage content tab)). I know the start up is not very efficient, it loads ALL entries into memory and can take awhile.

Also, check if the response times seem to be about the same when running MovieWiz on the server itself. Perhaps as mvallevand hinted at, it could be how the server interacts with the PCH for screen updates.

If you post your logs, I should be able to determine where the bottleneck is.

If the load of the plugin is getting in the way there is also the possibility that changing to this config.xml setting will help. The downfall is the plugin memory is lost when you aren't connected to you PCH.

Code:
<MVPLoadPluginsEarlier>true</MVPLoadPluginsEarlier>

I have 313 entries in the database. My logs are attached.

Hmm... I don't see any direct activity with MovieWiz in those logs. I can see the plugin load, but it does not look like you selected it, so I don't see any timings.

When you run the plugin on the server, do you see the same delayed response when you select MovieWiz?

I only run the MovieWiz Manager from my server. My server is unable to dislay PVRX2. I have one GBPVR client that I only use for testing (never viewing). I just tried to open MovieWiz from within GBPVR on that machine and it does have the same delay. It takes about 20 seconds to load MovieWiz once I select it from the GBPVR start page. Every other option from within GBPVR (music, weather plugin, etc.) comes up immediately. Once MovieWiz loads, it navigates well. It's just getting loaded that takes a bit.

I ,for the most part, only use GBPVR from the PCH so will loosing the plugin memory affect me? How about when reconnecting the PCH?

This memory is always going to be used on your server whether or not the server and the PCH is connected so you should check memory use with Task Manager. I'm not sure if this is a even a solution to the delay, it just means the plugin load time is moved to your startup so if you did things like WOL and you'd have a longer delay getting back in if you exit GBPVR to go to gaya or Swiss Center very briefly. It becomes a bigger problem if you want to autostart several MVP Servers.

I will also take a look at the startup code for MovieWiz. I think I can speed things up a bit if I redo the activiate/startup logic.

I probably won't have any changes for awhile though. You may be able to speed things up a bit if you change the default startup category to one that does not have alot of entries in it.
