VNC on Vista affecting MPG2 playback

not sure why, but it does on my machine.

was getting some blurrying/ghosting movement after using real vnc for the first time (installed in user mode on vista).

uninstalled and picture cleared up straight away (like it was before i first connected with VNC)

that's strange.. but sounds like it might be related to the video hook driver that RealVNC probably installs.. if you dont install the video hook driver, it will probably be ok.

sounds likely - i don't remember an option not to install that, but will check it.

hmm. real vnc site says free edition not supported on vista so was a bit of a fudge getting it working.

i'll just buy some more batteries for my wireless keyboard, i think Smile

Try UltraVNC; it is free and supports Vista. I have it installed and it works just fine.
