RF Remote Interference

I have the 45 button Hauppauge remote and am using an infrared extender like this one.

It receives interference and sometimes causes the TV to drop back to the menu or change channels.

I wanted to buy this RF remote for my new setup below:

Will it have the same issue? Should I just stick to an infrared remote?

That remote operates on a much higher RF range so it should theoretically be less prone to interference. All I can give you is the theoretical though since I have never used that remote and don't fully know your environment.
