Built a winlirc serial receiver to use with GB-PVR. I purchased a Universal sony Remote (rm-v120). Used the Sony TV code on it as all most all of the buttons are enabled.

Have gotten the buttons and actions programed, however... keys are repeated 2 times.

Are there solutions to delay the time it takes before the keys start repeating?

Thanks!

I wrote a cmd file to send a digit, followed by a delay, followed by another digit. A summary of my foray into WinLIRC/IREX on an HTPC is documented in http://homepage.ntlworld.com/markbb1/Winlirc.rtf Get it while you can, I am cancelling my internet account effective the 5th of July and it will probably become a broken link shortly thereafter.
I downloaded the Windows Server 2003 Administration Tools Pack in order to get a sleep command that could specify milliseconds. I got a lot of my insights/inspiration from post 6 of this thread http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...ode=linear

I don't know of a way to get WinLIRC to wait between repeats. It repeats just like you are holding down the button on the original remote. If keys are being repeated too many times, I would guess you have the number of reps in the parameters of the WinLIRC transmit.exe command set to more than zero, and that is too many for your set top box.

I am using winlirc to receive only... not to transmit... I have set up the winlirc and IREx to send keys to control GB-PVR. Every time I press a key it types two of the character. It makes it unusable. If I am browsing my video collection and I press enter It enters the directory to instantly exit the directory. I am going to try other device codes on the remote to see if this fixes it.. Stupid Sony.

IREX sends whatever it gets to the program in focus. Open notepad and make sure it is in focus and press the "1" key once very quickly (don't hold it down) and see how many 1's you get.

There are posts here by people that use HIP that get more than one instance of a keypress. It seems to be related to the program sending the key from the remote and the PC also seeing it as being pressed on the keyboard so it sends another one, or some nonsense. Somewhere in HIP or GBPVR there is a setting for interacting (or NOT interacting) with the keyboard or something like that.

See if you can find the posts where that issue is addressed by HIP users. The fix might apply to IREX.

No problem I gave up the remote. I wasn't happy with it. I really like my One for all remote.
