My Hauppauge tuner has both Cable and Component inputs, and I'm considering using it to digitize the output from my VideoCam (not live-feed but recorded-playback). However, I don't know where to go in GB-PVR to initiate a fully manual turn-on/turn-off (as opposed to start-at/end-at) recording.

I also have a digital tuner that has component outputs, and I'm planning to use GB-PVR to capture this external tuner source also, so I was thinking that if I can wrap my head around what's necessary for one, I may have a better clue on how to do the other. Rolleyes

I currently have set up two capture sources, and named them Analog and Digital respectively. The Analog source has an EPG associated with it, and works wonderfully. The Digital source uses the same Analog Recording Plugin, but has no EPG source and no Channel Changer. Someday I'll figure out how to get two different EPGs from SchedulesDirect, then my digital box to GB-PVR interface will flow easier. Big Grin

TIA for all who respond. These forums are the pinnacle of user-support, and are the standard by which I measure all other user forums!

You'd probably be better off just using the Hauppauge WinTV software to do this.

Thanks, Sub, I've done that, and the simplified recording option built into the WinTV utility works fine for my purposes.

However, it brings me back to my other question now - the WinTV software gives me the option to define a "channel" for my composite inputs, making recording off that a breeze. When I'm recording off my digital cable box, I'd like to bring in a second EPG, and depending on which channel I've chosen to record from, I'd like GB-PVR to draw its inputs from either the tuner card or the composite inputs. Where can I go to find instructions on how to use GB-PVR to pull from two different inputs (not at the same time, of course)?

You can create an extra capture source for your card, set the input to 'svideo' or 'composite', set the EPG to 'none' and manually create a channel called "AV1" or "SVideo" or similar, and it'll then show up as a normal channel (which you can view from live tv etc). It'll show you whatever is coming in on that input.

Excellent - thanks Sub. You're doing an awesome job on this product, both in its maintenance and upgrading, but also in support. Cheers!
