I have just installed MovieWiz and this looks like a very promising plugin. I have been a MyVideos user for a long time. While the plugin works fine, I have a couple of items, may be you can add them to a wish list:

1. The plugin display is cluttered and not easy to navigate (wife and kids). The arrow keys behave differently when in categories vs the movie list.

2. The font is too small on a tv screen to easily read movie names and details, the font should be larger. I have a 50" TV.

3. No icon view mode, this is very helpful for me and my family, especially in categories as well as individual movies, it is easier to navigate

4. No "save" button on the plugin settings application

5. Cover art for categories when they become available as icons

6. Some capability to scan/add movies from within the plugin once they are available on the HD

Thanks for the great work.

It's a great plugin...

1. have a look at the 'Category List alternate navigation setup:' in the 'MovieWiz_ReadMe.txt' file in the plugin folder.

2. I use the Blue-Retro-SHV skin - I'm sure that Jaggy is just about to release a new version which supports the latest version of MovieWiz.

4. After I have changed something, I just click on another tab to get a save prompt.

Someone else will come along with responses to your other points...

I have just uploaded the new high visibility Blue-Retro-SHVMoviwWiz.zip plugin skin to the wiki for full support for the latest version of MovieWiz. I also did a few minor modifications to it so it is now compatible for using other skins including subs default blue skin.

As ACTCMS noted, the readme file provides a solution to change how the arrow keys work on the categories list. The categories was a text box when the plugin was first released, so I didn't want to change the behavior of the arrow keys for existing users. The key mapping should provide the behavior you are looking for.

I have not heard this complaint about font size on large screens, but definitely small screens it is difficult to read. (Jaggy has a nice skin (Blue-Retro) with larger fonts for many plugins).

If you'd like the fonts a little bigger in the Blue skin, I suggest taking a look at the skin.xml, find the TextStyles section, and increase each size by 2. That should make a noticable difference, but still display ok.

I've had a few folks ask for this feature. It is not really a part of MovieWiz, but is a component of the WizTools. It will be a significant change to the WizUiList, and although I am planning to add this feature, at this point I don't have the time to invest in a rewrite of this control.
Quote:4. No "save" button on the plugin settings application
Do you mean on the "Manage Content" tab in the config utility? It will prompt each time you navigate to a new entry or click on another tab. I guess I was trying to save space, because that particular tab was pretty laoded. I'll see if I can find some space to add a save button.
Quote:5. Cover art for categories when they become available as icons
The cover art (thumbnail) is for items within the category. Are you saying you'd like two thumbnails to display, one for the category, one for the items in the category. Or, do you want a full category list (with thumbnail) that you would drill down on to get to the list items?
Quote:6. Some capability to scan/add movies from within the plugin once they are available on the HD
Try the red button (or Ctrl-R). You can import newly recorded movies, or import from default locations (specified in config on Settings(1) tab).
Thanks for the great work.[/quote]
