Hi,

I would like to know if there's a way for GB-PVR to detect there's no signal when it's recording and send a IR Blaster signal (much in the same way we configure how to change channels) to power on?

That would be cool cause my cable provider often sends update and then my set top box stays off and GB-PVR wouldn't record anything?

Sorry, there is nothing in GB-PVR that would do this. It just assumes your set top box is switched on.

Would it be possible to create a plugin to do that in GB-PVR?

I dont know. The app calls a parallelprocessing.bat file (if it exists) when it starts a recording. You might be able come with your own logic for doing something in there.

With My STB (UK Sky) it has a power on/off button, so there can be a similar problem.
However, I found a unique key that happens to start the STB and send it each time before the channel change numbers. It wasn't a key that I would have thought would power up the STB, so it may be worth trying to find one on yours.

Martin123,
how have you managed to find the hidden code for your stb?

It wasn't a hidden code so much as one of the normal functions that just happened to turn the box on as well. And as it only turned it on, not off, was ideal.

With your STB off, try each key in turn to see if one powers it up.

(I still have a problem after a powerfail, in that a message saying the phone isn't connected has to be cleared by another button.... A small UPS may be the answer to that one).
