That is not going to happen. I think wiki's are for user-to-user collaborative input that builds on the developer's notes, stickies etc.

I wasn't going to say any more on this at the moment but it has been niggling away at the back of my mind since the last post :p

Agree I think the wiki is great! But there are a few drawbacks to it over the forums. As I said before when I add the description to the first message in my thread downloads went up HEAPS, I already had a link to my wiki page, this tells me users won't just press the link to wiki to find out what a skin/plug-in is all about. Secondly when you look at a forum that has current messages you (basically) know that is a current plug-in, whereas when you find something on the wiki you don't always know if it current or not until you have read through it.

Then there are the plug-in etc. that don't have any real explanation as to what they can do at all, just as an example the mvpmc dongle I haven't been able to find out what all it can do & I have spent ages trying to find out, there isn't really anything about it at all on the wiki & the stickies don't actually tell you what it can do (or how to do it) & even people that use it don't seem to either know or how to explain it.

If you read the link to the mvpmc wiki you will see the glaring lack of user input weakens it considerably. Also mvpmc and mvpmcx2 are not GBPVR plugins, I would really like to see other software use it too.

Each plugin sub-forum has its developer as a moderator and they should be able to make whatever they wish as a "sticky". Sticky posts work great for people who actually take the time to look at them. The problem is most people ignore those and go fishing for what they need. Sub has a sticky on how to post support questions, yet he still needs to remind people to re-create errors, zip and attach logs. Not a bad idea though to help.

Martin, I'm a bit like Jaggy, I am aware of mvpmc, but never felt I knew quite enough about it to try installing it. I started following that post, and it certainly leads to a lot of good stuff about MVPMC and MVPMCX2 - but I would never have found it in a month of Sundays if you hadn't cited it here.

Maybe you could create a sub-forum under "MVP & NMT" simply called "The MVPMC(X2) Project" containing a single sticky with something like
Quote:I am particularly interested in where GB-PVR users want to go, especially with your option of using the GBPVR client.
The mvpmc project has it's own web site and wiki respectively at

http://www.mvpmc.org/
http://mvpmc.wikispaces.com/
so more people might find it.

Given that there are already two mvpmc forums it doesn't seem to make sense to add a third. In any case I am not spending time with the MVP and GBPVR anymore. If sub wants to add things like mpeg-ts FLAC etc that is fine, but I am out of ideas and most people seem happy with the status quo.
