Just wondering if the PCH output 'upconverts' lower resolution recordings to HD? I am thinking about building a movie library server with MovieWiz from DVD source. If I get a PCH, and run the movie from GBPVR through the PCH will I get the same quality as an 'upconverting' DVD player?

Many people say yes and given that the PCH uses the same chip as several upconverting DVD/BluRay players it is logical. There are several threads on this on the NMT forums and the discussions don't just go into simple upconverting, since deinterlacing, pulldowns etc are part of this but they way over my head. I just think the SD output looks good.
