Hi,
I'm a refugee from the Mediaportal world. When it works, its great, but more often than it should, it cracks and stuffs my MC. I then have to reload the image from recovery 2 (Gigabyte MA69 s2h, works well). WAF factor has sunk to a new low, so I have try something else. So far, GBPVR looks very promising. I've got the movie Library working, and it is very fast, most impressed! I have three tuners in my MC. Two (Avermedia A177) tuners are used exclusively by Web Scheduler Pro to do all my recording. The third (Winfast DTV 1000S) I use for live TV. I am quite happy to use Web Scheduler Pro to set all my recordings times (manually) and as such do not have any need for the EPG. But do I need it (EPG) to set up the TV capture card channels? So far, I cannot get any sense out of it. Sometimes it finds the ABC channels, other times Channel 7. I have 'EPG source' set to none. In the 'Digital Channel Mapping' dialog, it shows channel 7 running in the top r/h box, but when I exit the config program, and run GBPVR, Live TV shows just black. One thing mediaportal does have is an easier method of setting up the TV capture card, just scan and go. The method in GBPVR seems a tad convoluted, but then, I'm just a newbie, and stand to be corrected. Thanks for you help.

You can use it without an EPG, but you lose a lot of the benefits GB-PVR when without one.

Delete whatever capture source you've already created, then create a new capture source, set the epg source to the 'dvb epg' option, then hit the 'map digital channels to epg channels' button and it'll do the scan. When the scan completes, tick the channels you want to keep.

Sub,
Thanks for your help, but unfortunately I'm still in trouble. I did as you said above, but it still only finds Digital 7 (1,2,3 and the Digital 7 HD). It doesn't find Channel 9, 10, SBS or the ABC (In Australia by way). MP finds all the channels, as does Winfast's PVR2. The fact that it finds some channels suggests that I entered the correct filter names from Graphedit into the config file (DTV 1000 S). Anyway, when I get out of config and start PVRX2 and goto Live TV, the screen goes black for a couple of secs, then returns to the main menu. Going to TV guide lists the found channels (no data though, as expected). I have attached the zipped up log dir. Thanks for your help.

The first thing you should do is check that its scanning the correct frequencies for the broadcasts in your area.

What frequency does 9/10/SBS/ABC transmit on? Once I know this I can check the logs to see if it managed to lock on to a signal at those frequencies.

The black screen issue sounds like you do not have the correct codecs etc selected or installed.

Man it is hard to type with your index finger taped to the finger next to it!

On this, go into the config app and enable live preview mode, and also check that the live tv buffer directory is point to a location that exists.

Hi,
The dir was missing re jumping back to the menu (assumed it made one if it didn't exist), so that bits fixed, but I still get a black screen, although on one of the 'unknown channels (AC3), which is infact the ABC HD channel, I get sound.
Digital 7 is C6-177.5 Mhz
Digital 9 is C8-191.5 Mhz
Digital 10 is C11-219.5 Mhz
SBS is C29 536.5 Mhz
ABC is C12 226.5 Mhz

I restart the scanning process. It always finds channel 7.
If I chose Australia, then Melbourne_Dandenong, it cycles through the 5 channels (C8,C29,C11,C12 and C6). Except for 7 and the ABC the sig strength and Quality are 0. The sig strength for 7 and the ABC is -20 and the Quality is 100%. Ok, so when I managed to get it to find 7 and the ABC, I went back to PVRX2, I got the result already mentioned above. As already mentioned in the first post, the tuner works fine for other progs, so I'm a bit stumped. Also in the 'request tuning' column, it showed ABC, but had channel 7's frequency. Also, on a couple of occasions, the preview window was playing channel 7 clear as a bell! The video/movie part seems to work fine. Most of the files are .mpg with some .avi divx. all playing off a nas box.

Reproduce this, then zip and attach the logs and I'll take a look.

What MPEG2 video decoder do you have selected on the playback tab of the config app? Have you tried other ones?

Updating the 0141-melb file in the /BDA/DVB-T folder as below may help. This fixed my scanning issues with an HVR2200.

[TERTYPE]
1=Australia
2=Melbourne_dandenong

[DVB]
;Position = Channelname,Frequency(KHz),Inversion(0,1),0,Bandwidth (7MHz=1, 8MHz=2)
0=5

1=C8,191625,0,0,7
2=C29,536625,0,0,7
3=C11,219500,0,0,7
4=C12,226500,0,0,7
5=C6,177500,0,0,7
