It's annoying, but sometimes the TV companies will move the timeslot for a program back and forth by a few minutes (for instance to cater for extended news bulletins etc.).
If you have a VCR or DVD recorder that uses PlusCodes (e.g. VideoPlus/VCRPlus), then a program set to record from that code will record when it occurs, not just when it was scheduled (I have no idea how this works - is it something embedded in the TV signal that the VCR or DVD Recorder picks up on?).
Anyway, it occurs to me that this would be a nice-to-have feature for one-off recordings (I don't think it would work for a season record unless the same pluscode is used for all episodes in a season - does anyone know?).
Anyway, if the pluscodes were also available to the EPG (I assume they are), couldn't GB use this as the means of ensuring that a scheduled recording starts and finishes at the right time?
This is just a thought for the future, and to find out if anyone else can enlighten me as to how this works.
Definately a 'lower-than-low' wishlist item.
