I get an error when running this plugin which pops up on the screen saying that there are "No download streams available" when I hit the download button. I have the most recent GBPVR on winXP with the netflix 1.0.2.4 plugin. Netflix works fine through IE. Any ideas? Here is the section from the log file:

let me know if you could use more.

Post the full pvrx2.exe.log and I'll take a look. Does this happen on everything or one particular show?

it happens on any show or movie I try to download. If I try to play a movie preview, it just goes to a blank screen and sits there, though an flv file shows up in the download directory.

ill grab the full logs once I can get to my htpc

Does your movie cache folder exist? If it is on a network share, try using a local folder and let me know if it does the same thing.

it exists, I even moved it around, I initially had it local to the GBPVR default installation folder (default setting) and then I moved it to the root of another local drive. When I try to download a video it creates the folder structure in the directory but it remains empty.

I figured it would have something to do with connecting to netflix as its a connection error, but who knows. Do you have the source code for this plugin available? It would be nice to take a look.

It most likely is a connection issue but I asked because the latest log shows a failure to write the Downloads.xml.bak file which would not be affected by connection issues. I am preparing the source for release (need to clean it up a bit). There are going to be a lot of changes to it in the near future though since they have released an API.

interesting about the Download.xml.bak. I didn't see that before. I will try again tonight and see if it gets that same message again.

Would you mind testing one thing for me? Try changing the default bitrate in the plugin config to the lowest setting and try downloading a movie that previously gave you the error. If that works, it means that my code for the fallback quality is not working. Starz titles were originally added at 500kbps and they are upgrading them as fast as they can.

I had a similar issue in which the download would start and run for a few minutes before halting suddenly. Then anything I tried to download from netflix would not even start.
Turns out Snort (an IDS system common on many UTM devices) was detecting the stream as bad traffic and blocking the download.
So, if you are running a firewall with snort or other IDS (such as smoothwall, pfsense, clarkconnect, untangle, etc.) then you may need to adjust accordingly by whitelisting or disabling the ruleset affecting the download.
