Right now, mvpmcx2 is only compiled for the wired (eth0) port but it does work with the wn-100 in testing in a custom version I have not released. I was going to release an update when Syabas release their hardware and officially support wireless but I guess I can do this with my next update.

However the "no server found" message might be an indication that you haven't set up networking properly. If mvpmcx2 was failing you should get a thirty second blank screen with a return to the browser.

In my experience with wireless prepare to be disappointed with HD, Syabas claims for 20Mb max appear true but I often cannot get that often. My 802-11n router is saying connected at 120Mb though.

i am referring to logs on my nmt console while executing mvpmcx2 - its easier to debug that way.. if eth0 is hardcoded there is no way to have connection with wlan0 i suppose

That's good, I will see what I can do to configure this automatically. If you have chance I would like you to read your opinion of your wireless experience.

ok. not much time for testing so far but..
at first my infrastructure.. so far i am using wireless-g network with TP-Link TL-WN821N usb card on my nmt side (hdx1000).
ofcourse it is not enough for hd content streaming but it performs well with photos, divx movies. I have just tested dvb-t tv and there are some problems but I need more time to investigate it - I am not sure if it is gbpvr related issue (support for my tv card or codec problem) or reliability of mvp connection..
if you have any specific question feel free to ask..

cheers

Any updates on this? I thought "N" was suppose to out perform wired 100MB network connections?

baj1, mvpmcx2 does support the wireless cards in the NMT (WN100 & TPLink), assuming it is enabled by the NMT software, if that's what you mean by your question. In my experience, even though it's 80211.n, it still won't do HD broadcast playback reliably and bridges might be better.

I still recommend wired whenever possible even for PC clients and I'm pretty sure sub has said something similar.

Thanks Martin. That's interesting, is it the signal strength of the 802.11n equipment just varies too much for high-bandwidth media?

Is anyone using the Powerline Ethernet adapters with HD? I see many of those rated up to 200mbs. Or is that connection equally unreliable?
