Just noticed that mtv have started this side with +16k music clips on it. Would be cool to have it in gbpvr. there seems to be also a api for dealing with the content: http://developer.mtvnservices.com/docs/Home.

Anyone knows how to handle (temp download and convert to mpg ?) the flash videos? Or how to play from within gbpvr ? Is there something to learn from the youtube plugin ?

I didn't notice they had an API for it. I was toying around with page scraping.
Will have to take a closer look.

No, unfortunately. I took the same approach I did with youTube, and created a Windows Form (set to topmost) with a flash OCX in it, then fed it the file location.
Which means it can't be run in FSE (wicked bummer, because that really works best for me) and must be run on the GB-PVR computer itself.

You can play the flash files in GBPVR, they just have to be downloaded first and you have to have the relevant directshow decoders. That's what I do with the Netflix previews, and sub used to have a YouTube plugin.

Download CCCP codec pack....that is intended for Matroska containers.
But in CCCP, ffdshow and a FLV splitter is included, that will allow FLV files to be rendered with ffdshow.

You need to add FLV to supported video extension in config.xml

Then flash videos plays fine.

I use Orbit downloader to grab files from youtube ...free and good.

Yes, I tried that. But I was unable to control the size of the video. DirectShow simply made it full screen. And on a hi-def tv, blowing up a YouTube video that much is beyond horrid.
I haven't played with attempting to download the MTV videos, but kicking the player up to FullScreen on a 720p screen yielded some very grainy results...
