Music plugin support thread

Hi,

my music libary is on a network share which is already accesible but not from the music plugin.

from pvrx2.log:

may be this one is fault ?:
Folder change to \\NAS\Music\\\\NAS\Music\Album

Try setting you you nas with ShareHelper......will probably fix your issue with access.

nice idea, but that wont do anything in this case because the share is accessible from whitin windows. there seems to be a logically flaw.

anyway: your sharehelper may to do a good job - will give it a try. is it able to make an establisht connection with a new user/pwd combination (ie the share is open with user jon, connect new with user admin ?)

Ok....I know depending on what is running what even though it is setup to allow the windows user access the application itself may be accessing under a system level access level which in that case you need something like ShareHelper which will setup the share (you can use a drive letter or the UNC (I use UNC)) so that it is accessible by the OS itself....and not just a named user.

I wanted to try the music plugin...installation went fine, but when I load PVRX2 and and select Music from the menu, GBPVR hangs. I've attached logs. FYI, I'm using CS3 skin and have copied skin files from http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...sic+plugin into the skin\music and skin2\music directories...it does not help. Any suggestions for how to get this running?

CS3 would require a skin rewrite and is incompatible with CS4 and blue versions. If I get a chance this week I could write a compatible version.

I'm not sure it warrants a skin rewrite just for me (but I very much appreciate the offer). I plan to eventually move to CS4, but it may be many months before I do as I have customized many of my CS3 skins and it will take some time to get CS4 the way I want it. If others are in need of the CS3 skin, I'd enjoy having it, but would rather see you channel your efforts elsewhere if the Music plugin works with CS4...I'll eventually get there and can try this then.

Hi,

First a big thanks to you for an exellent plugin. I really appreciate the time you guys put into this.

I'm having a problem though. Every few minutes an error dialogue pops up twice (see attached image).

AlbumArtAggregator.exe - Common Language Runtime Debugging Services

Application generated an exception that could not be handled

Process Id=xxx Thread Id=yyy (these are different on each window)

Click OK to terminate the application
Click Cancel to debug the application

When I click OK (twice, once for each error) the error disappears for a few minutes, then it happens again. If I just leave the window for a while, the errors stack up and I have to clear them all.

Any ideas?

Hello, long time since I visited the forum!

I was back in Sweden to find myself a job and make some money but it sucked so after 9 month I sold my newly bought apartment, stuffed away the furniture and other things and went back to Thailand where I've soon been a month!

I also see that the AlbumArtAggregator crashes, this application is not developed by me nor MixMan, it was found on the net and had a nice cmdLine interface for downloading covers so we threw it into the musicPlugin package. Why it crashes is probably because a) No internet access b) Could not find anyting or something missformed returned during grabbing or c) the websites updated so the AAA is no longer compatible with the page.

I have no time to look into this but you may look for your own commandlined cover downloader and edit the MUSIC.XML in plugin\Music folder, the element CommandLineOnSongPlayback is executed everytime a song is played.
