Hi,

I wonder whether anyone has any experience with this MB as a fanless multimedia PC or a GBPVR client.

Unfortunately these VIA processors and the video chipset are bit on the slow side for use with GB-PVR. It'll probably work, but poorly.

I know thet the processor is weak, but in the specs they claim that there is some kind of hardware MPEG2/MPEG4 decoder in the built in graphics chip. The board has a DVI output which presumably supports HDTV modes. Since it runs winXP it might make a thin client runing GBPVR if the hardware decoding is any good. What I learned from various forums is that the graphics drivers are not very stable.

There is of course a question how the processor would handle .NET.

Thanks for the information. Currently I do not have the hardware and I am only playing with different ideas. My goal is to get rid of the a noisy server/recorder in the living room by moving it into basement while still keeping internet browsing capability in the living room.
