New 'edit' Categories

ok it was just thought
its just a struggled with video cards and playback once it went to vmr till i got a 8600
tried a ati 2400 and it was crap aswell but others have said the ati 3xxx cards are good
the 2 things that made the biggest difference is getting a dual core and the 8600

Ideally, I will be having pages with User's suggestions. That may be a lot bigger a task

OK, so let's open this up.. Fatman_do's idea is not bad, but it still involves a bit of a list, and the sheer size adds glaze to newbies eyes...

Not if they plugin types are made as sub menus. Example

Click on plugins and you get:
Plugins
.Video
.Music
.Web
.System
.etc

Then click on music and you get
Plugins
.Video
.Music
..ML3
..Music
..etc
.Web
.System
.etc

Is this kind of layout possible using the wiki software?

Not as groups, see http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/PmWiki/HierarchicalGroups, and the skin currently make it uggly looking but the layout is possible.

I've been looking at this before but perhaps something new have popped up that I have missed. My best bet is to use categories, browse around PmWiki.org and see if you find something to build from (http://www.pmwiki.org/wiki/PmWiki/Categories)

The main thing here is that we do not want to rename the page names...

After a brief look it seems you can do it using categories. See the Category nesting section.

Yes it is possible if you break out Plugins and make it its own menu header. What I posted previously showed it. The only bugaboo is to make the list dynamic. Can it show filtered categories? I haven't looked nearly as deep on this yet.

So you're saying that creating new pages, and deleting the old ones isn't good?

But I think it ought to be some way to get those lists included in the side menu, it's been almost a year since I last did thorough research on this and something should have evolved...

Well I'm going to allow myself to break that rule a bit. I think it's important to change actual page names so that they are displayed in the correct order when we use auto lists, like categories...

I understand how content can lay around a hard drive, so I will be careful and sparingly.

At a certain point you may want to, ( or let me at it) to actually clean the hard drive... It would make for smaller back up files...

At 8:30 am MST -7 GMT, the wiki was deadly slow.

I wondered if it was maintenance, too many cooks, or too many customers...

My net was fine for a million other sites including this forum
