I've cleaned up the sidebar plugin menu and plugin page. I think it is a good balance. The sidebar lists quicklinks to active plugins, ones with sourcecode and unsupported plugins.

The Plugin page is less cluttered and has links to plugins by category and version.

New plugins that get added don't need anything special to happen. All new plugins will populate the "Active Plugins" list. If they mark a category on that page, it will populate that group as well. I made the active plugins goup the first selection, so a complete list is either one pick (direct from side menu) or two (Plugins side menu and then "Active Plugins" main page) picks away.

Wow!!!

OK, I had an old dog moment when I looked at the side bar, click on Active plugins and was killed with a huge list. Then I wondered how to tell you it sucked without hurting your feelings. Then I click on 'Plugins' itself, and saw old faithful. And THEN!!! I saw your categories. It is an extensive list, but I think it's well written and laid out. It's a layer or two in, so it doesn't make the newbies crazy...

And I love the fact that new stuff need not have anything done to it. It seems we're the ones that prune the old stuff out anyway, so why not tag old stuff, and leave new stuff alone.

Well done!

It appears there is a limit on the amount of filters that can be placed on a pagelist of two. The active plugins page shows "Plugins", and removes "Unsupported". I cannot find a way to also remove "PluginDocumentation"

EDIT: Nevermind, I had a typo in it yesterday that I kept missing, I was trying "PluginDocumentaton"

Do you mean the category at the bottom? (methinks not, that would be too simple)

Nevermind. I must have had a typo when I was testing it. Now it works.

Not sure if this helps any, but I have GBPVR working on Windows Server 2008 32bit with a Hauppauge 2250. I noticed it only mentions 2003. I can put together a quick write up for you to add on if you want. Pretty simple.

I don't mean to criticize or want to sound like a whiner and am not at all sure that the following are logical or that they'll help any. I am a computer geek and former pro, but for the life of me, why can't a manual be one or two large files and not compel the eager user to navigate for hours to find what s/he wants, or worse, when downloading for home usage? A really helpful manual should be convenient to any user, whatever level the user is at. I for one don't have enough eyes and especially time to navigate through or save tens upon tens of discrete pages. Make it one single file (say .pdf or .doc) downloadable (for .pdf make it editable so the user can paste the updates). I understand fully that discrete pages are much easier to write, edit and update, but they can be added into a general .doc file very easily by simple pasting. I worked at many companies where we were constantly adding to internal user manuals. What if the hundreds of coworkers had to go to tens and hundreds of pages to find some little detail? Do you think that any company could afford the enormous waste of time that would ensue with all the permanent searches? Yeah, choping the file into a hypertext tree looks sophisticated, especially to the Linux fans (among whom I can number myself as well) but it's extremely inconvenient.

Just my two cents. Sylva.

Basically its done this way because I had no interest or time for producing a manual or other documentation, so instead the users came up with using a wiki so that they could cooperatively work on small bits of documentation for themselves. Wiki software is pretty much designed for this purpose, and it has worked pretty well. Sure, we didnt end up with a nicely edited .pdf or .doc, but at least we got some documentation, and its relatively up to date.

Oh, surely, the software is not only free, but I also want a convenient manual Smile I understand fully what you mean and don't complain. I'll do my best.

Thanks, Sylva.
