The idea of this thread is to tryout suggested xml layouts for both CS-SD and CS-HD and perhaps decide what gets included in the default installation.

Standard definition - 4:3 layout

Attached:

Default plugins:
(Rec,music, pic, vid): tweaked aesthetically and to improve compatibility with 15pt larger text sizing

Baseskin:
15/17pt large text sizing - I find it difficult to maintain the layout switching from 13pt to anything higher that 15pt
included "MiniHeaderStyle"+"MiniHeaderStyleSelected" text styles. (identical to the header text styles but with smaller pt size)

Popups:
show more details - tweaked layout and positioning on the screen - should support double line program titles
manual recordings - tweaked layout and positioning - improved compatibility with 15pt text

TVGuide layouts:
TV Guide - 5 Channel - Standard Text
TV Guide - 5 Channel - Very Large Text
TV Guide - 6 Channel - Large Text
TV Guide - 7 Channel - Standard Text
TV Guide - 8 Channel - Small Text
all should support all 4 name-number-Icon views

Metadata layouts
Meta View - CS_Blue Slick - tweaked version of subs slick layout with CS_Blue list-background.png
Meta View - Icon - Buttons
Meta View - Icon - No Buttons
Meta View - List - Buttons
Meta View - List - No Buttons
I've concentrated on the video library view but they can be tweaked for pic and music

Hopefully the xml's are in order Smile

Wow, you are the man. We need to get you hooked up with the svn.

Once you get there, we can explain how you can post all these up there. No more needing to zip and attach or email us after that.

I'll have a look at these xml's tonight when I get home from work.

Cheers fatman_do

I'm a little wary of the google code page, due to it's complexity. But as we get closer to polishing this off, I'll start hassling you for how to get over that, (part of which is the comfort of having a filter to pass your suggestion through Big Grin)

One quirk I found while doing the meta data layouts is that, for the video library view anyway, if I enable the icon view the list-background.png doesn't draw correctly, no matter what type of jiggery-pokery I try. I was wondering if you could reproduce it on your end ? It would be nice to try a layout with it enabled.

Cheers

Ok Hairy, I'll check them out as well.

About the Google code page, don't fear it because you never have to go the site in a web browser. This weekend I'll come up with some instructions for you and others explaining everything. As far as using it, I just right click a folder in windows explorer and chose to download or upload. The programs take care of everything else.

One more Big Grin

I personally like the framing the list-background.png gives but the two flaws I see are, the quirkiness with icon views and things get a little cramped. But I've attached another suggested list view, this time with the list-background.png.

Oh and I'll get up to speed with the google code page, I know it's the right way to go Smile

You might want to look into expanding the witdth of the description stuff to maximize content. Like the image, above make as wide as list selectors maybe?
