After listening to a radio station I then try and enter live TV ( i have a dual DVB-T system and one tuner is recording a programme) and I get a "No tuners available to watch the requested channel..,"
I suspect that the Radio plugin is not realising the tuner - is there a work around for this?

Firstly your thread title is slightly confusing ('...prevents live tv/recordings'). Have you actually had any recordings fail?...or is this specifically a Live TV issue?

In theory it shouldn't prevent a scheduled recording (but do bear in mind the Disclaimer on the wiki page :oSmile). There are two or three mechanisms in my code which continually track the gbpvr recording schedule and should bail out if one is about to start.

WRT Live TV having no tuners available - could you reproduce this and zip and attach the dvb-t radio logs AND the pvrx2.exe and GBPVRRecordingService logs (normal and -native versions).

In theory if you have explicitly stopped dvbt radio playback before attempting Live TV there should be no problem but I'd need to see the logs.

Cheers,
Brian

Sorry english isn't my forte

This is the aspect i was talking about

"WRT Live TV having no tuners available - could you reproduce this and zip and attach the dvb-t radio logs AND the pvrx2.exe and GBPVRRecordingService logs (normal and -native versions)"

And I have attached the requested logs. Many thanks for looking into this.

...and could you post the DVB-T Radio logs as well please? Smile

EDIT: I think I have an idea of what's happening although I'd still like to see the DvbtrServiceMessenger.log if possible.

OK - that confirms it.

The dvbt radio service periodically contacts the gbpvr recording service and requests a 'lease' for the tuner it is using. This is actually quite crucial in a multi-tuner setup and is one of the mechanisms which helps prevent dvbt radio from interfering with gbpvr recordings.

I didn't really know how it worked until now but it seems every time I renew the lease, the tuner in use is set as being reserved for 45 seconds.

If you repeat the experiment but wait a minumum of 45 seconds after stopping dvbt radio playback, does it let you view Live TV?

You are correct and that is great. This plug in has been the missing link in GBPVR.

Another question if I dont press stop and just axcess live TV how long does it take till the radios lease of the tuner ends 45 secs?

Figured that out for myself it does. Very impressive.
