i was wondering what people experiencing was like with free installers?

which one is best/easiest to use ? nsis? inno?

i want to do the following
- install files but only replace files are newer
- update xml files
- execute sql commands (to create a database/update a database)
- ability to download something from the internet and then run it if need be
- launch another installer and wait for that to complete
- have the ability to "modify" the install (to change database settings)

ive used nsis in the past, and know it does most of those things (not sure about the sql),

also what is the best ide to use for the installer? (writing nsis forms was a PITA last i used it)

TIA

Have a look at the Advanced Installer that also have a freeware version.
It is really easy to use. But maybe not the SQL features you want.

It does not do the SQL or XML in the free version. I had looked into that one before and was excited about the feature list until I got down to the list and saw it was $500 to do XML.

I use NSIS mostly due to it being what everyone else was using at the time, and XRecord had a reference install stript that I started with.
