Not sure if this is possible to do from within PVRX2.exe, but I use Eventghost to help change the Channels etc on my PC upstairs.

I have recently discovered having Eventghost running somehow doesn't let the MVP downstairs change channels, so what I'd like to do is start GBPVR using a Batch file, which first runs Eventghost, then starts PVRX2.exe but then to also close Eventghost on PVRX.exe exit?

Could one of the programmy games suggest a good way to do this?

Cheers

I read your other post about this too. I suppose Eventghost is running under the local account, what happens if you run it under the system account?
Then it would be running under the same account as the mvp-pvrx2.

Hans

Edit: or you let the gbpvrrecordingservice run under the local account, that would make the mvp-pvrx2 run under that account too.

Hi Hans,

Thanks for that, um bit embarrased to ask, but how I actually get something to "run under the local account" ?

run: services.msc then select the gbpvrrecordingservice, goto properties (I guess) there you can enter the account under which you want it to run.
Be careful, you might get other problems when you do this. E.g you can't enable "interact with desktop" if you run it under a user account. There are work arounds for that.
But at least you could try, for testing purposes.Smile

Can I ask another Q? Eventghost is an exe, but not a service. So how can I change user accounts for an exe?

I didn't know, but after some searching I found this page:
http://technet.microsoft.com/nl-nl/sysin...n-us).aspx

I tried and it works quite well I think.

Just curious: wouldn't it be easier to run the recordingservice under your user account.

Hans

Thanks for that Hans!

I guess I can try the local a/c thingy for GBPVRrecordingservice first. Are there any disadvantages?

You can't set it to "interact with desktop" then, although there is a workaround for that. I think it sometimes influences the EWA, but I'm not sure about that.
I think it's worth the try, it might not help at all.:o
Have a nice day, I'm gonna have a nice night first.Smile
