my QAM channels are mapped to my OTA schedule using mc2xml through titantv...
It was working fine until 2-3 days ago the listing info was gone, analog still shows my channels, but I think I used microsoft for those...
Anyone else having issues getting channel info through titantv?
Or did titantv change something?

I have tried a few other zipcodes but no joy. Las Vegas - same results several different zipcodes.

maybe they changed something
no more free listings??? that would blow
and microsoft doesn't have my ATSC listed
might have to see if i can map my QAM to the digital cable channels
i think they give those
and yes when i go online i can view all my local listings that i need

I use mc2xml on my MythTV box and it is now broken too. I did a little bit of snooping and it appears that TitanTV either changed the address of their server or discontinued the service. When I run mc2xml I get the following error:
Code:
error TLD
With TLD meaning Top Level Domain (I assume). I watched the connection with tcptrace and it tries to connect to 66.43.219.228:80 which according to my reverseIP lookup is likely a titantv.com (66.43.219.225) domain, but it doesn't map to FQDN. If you try to visit the IP address with a web browser you get "Bad Request (Invalid Hostname)" which appears to me to be just a GO AWAY/NO TRESPASSING sign.

I have guide data for 7 days. My guess is that TitanTV just changed something like an IP address and I am hoping that the developer of mc2xml figures out how to solve the problem before my guide data runs out. If not, then it may just give me the incentive I've needed to move to schedulesdirect.

Thanks,

Schedules Direct FTW. come on guys, only $20 per year, and the listings are better.

Or you can donate $20 to the MC2XML dev and get the new version which can access the new Windows 7 listing service, which also has ATSC listings.

Yeah i might have to look and the schedules direct
$20 is a great price
for now though, I redid my QAM mappings to microsoft's "digital cable" in my area
they play all my channels and now the HD channels are mapped to the same as everyone I know that has a box... plus they're the same as the analog channels except start at 700.
That makes it easy to know what channel i'm on
but i did notice my guide data took longer to load in pxvr, hopefully that only happens the first time, but i suspect it has to do with the 900+ digital cable channels (even though I disabled all but about 12)

It's quite easy to map QAM and digital. I've never used the the TitanTV option, so if it's giving trouble, just use the source.chl option in MC2XML to limit the digital channels to those you receive.

yes i already mapped the channels to my digital cable lineup
i don't see any option for "source.chl"
on the web they say the channel listing is default named mc2xml.chl, maybe i could edit that file... but i don't know where that file is

Sorry I wasn't clear. MC2XML allows you to specify the channels you want to download. You list all the channels you want to get in a text file (create it with notepad and put it with MC2XML.EXE), name it with a .chl extension (such as source, chl, QAM.chl, satellite.chl, analog.chl, filename.chl or the default mc2xml.chl), then add the option -C filename.chl to the command line of MC2XML.

When you are using multiple sources, like satellite, analog and QAM, it's common to name the .chl files by the source name so you know which one they go with. That's why I referred to it as source.chl.

For example, the MC2XML digital data for your local cable might have 400 channels, but you could simply add a text .chl file with one line as follows: "2-99" and MC2XML would only get the channels 2 through 99. You can identify channels you want in several different ways, by number, by id code, by broadcast name, etc.

(I should mention that when I actually did this for my setup, for reasons unknown, it didn't pick up channel 2, so my analog.chl file (used to get listings only for analog) looks like this:

2
WXYZ (call letters of channel 2 and added to make sure I actually get channel 2)
3-99

I have no idea why I had to fake out channel 2.

There is a new version of mc2xml and it says something about the -y option. I went and got an account, but it still doesn't seem to work. Anyone having luck? I just noticed tonite that going forward, no updates.

If you did, can you post the actual batch file (leaving out the key bits of personal data) that worked?

thanks.
