ML3 seems to display and play album tracks alphabetically, but ML2 plays by track number. I've got them both installed at the moment and they seem to share the same settings page, so I've definately got sort by number ticked.
Is this a known bug or just my system?

Umm, yes. Probably not something I've looked at. Thought maybe if you had it set to default to Track # in ML2 as part of the config settings, that ML3 would follow that.

If you haven't explicitly tested that, then have a look at it. It may be something simple I can try and put a patch out for. I'll see how I go for time.

Am I right that they have a common settings page? Ticking sort by # in ML2 settings automatically sets sort by # in ML3 settings page.
I've tried ticking and unticking - ML2 does what it's told, ML3 only sorts by name.

yes, a few versions ago I made a change from <MusicLibrary2> and <MusicLibrary3> for settings to <MusicLibrary>.

Pity it didn't work. I'll try to have a look at the code over the next couple of days. Although I'm in the middle of virtualising my systems (not pvr system).

I know it's off topic - but I've been thinking of doing some virtualization of my systems. How is it going for you and what led you to that step?

is going ok.

I'm going to convert an older machine, update he hardware to an AMD5000 Dual core and 8gb of Ram.

Intending to put down VMWare ESXi.
For machines I indend to put down a windows home server and a windows 7. Windows 7 will be my main work horse.

I may have a couple of others to play with, like a couiple of Windows 2003 servers, with sharepoint and SQL Server.

I may try an exchange server as well.

The main bit I'm unsure of is the ESXi. I should try it as I think the VMWare server is quite nice. And we'll be starting with Vmware at work.

I could look at Hyper-v, or Windows 2008 server. And if I have to I will.

I haven't gotten into bare metal virtual yet. I have multiple machines running, including an old Debian server (serves TiVo EPG data), that I'd like to shut down and run virtual. I was thinking about VMWare Workstation, but perhaps ESXi is worth a look. I won't mess up this thread any more, but thanks for the reply.
