Hi all. Just sorta impulse purchased a second HVR-1600. Whats the best way to install it? Do I just plug it in and turn the computer on? Will windows realize that it already has drivers for it? Or will I need to monkey around with drivers/winTV or anything??

I'm guessing that configuring GBPVR to use both HVR-1600's will be a piece of cake - it's getting windows to recognize them both thats worrying me...

the IR remote and blaster will most likely not work; limitation of the IR drivers and their inability to distinguish between different Hauppauge devices. everything else should work ok though.

as long as the remote still works with the original HVR-1600 I should be fine then. Installing #2 won't disable both IR recievers will it?

Well, I got the second one installed. About as straight forward as it could be.

Powered down, plugged it in, and rebooted. Didn't bother plugging in the IR receiver or blaster on the new one, and the IR receiver on the original HVR-1600 still works just like before.

To sum it up: it was a piece of cake.
