Ooh.. It's just like Christmas day with a nice new toy to play with!!!!

Huge thanks as always to Martin, Sub and all of the testers for the latest release.

First the good news,

Upgraded mvpmcx2, sub's mods and config.xml. Both PCH-A110 and PCH-B110's work first time. Playback of cyberlink mux recorded programs works perfectly on both Component and HDMI. Speed is fantastic. Live TV has a tiny (and expected) buffer delay but plays flawlessly. I will give it all a good bashing over the next 24 hours and see if I can break anything. Big Grin

The only bit of bad news so far is that BBC HD recordings (H264 with AC3 audio I think) appear to have a bit of a problem keeping track of the audio stream. When a recording is first started, there is a 10 second delay until the audio kicks in with a stutter. After that, the audio seems to be sync'ed OK, but gets lost again whenever I skip or pause. Also, in mono mode, the audio subtitles could be turned on and off with the 'Audio' button on the remote. This seems to be disabled in PCH2 mode and I seem to get random audio subtitleing.

I dont know if it helps but I've attached dumpts.txt

Let me know if you would like a HD recording snippet putting somewhere.

Once again many thanks for all of your fantastic efforts.

Martyn.

First the good news. You can always select mono as the player if you use the USB Eject key instead of Enter to select the recording. If it is always bad select the command line option --mono-h264 to play all h264 files in mono.

The bad news is I might need to do more prebuffering but the two small BBC and ITV HD samples I have worked. Are you using wireless or powerline networking?

Part of the initial delay is because I had to add a default time delay of 2 seconds because the GBPVR live tv buffering didn't seem to work. If you don't watch h264 live another command line is --delay-h265 ## where ## is the ms. Zero is ok if you don't watch live tv

Thanks for dumpts.txt it does help with this kind of problem. The rules are working here I do "prefer" 03 audio stream over stream 6. My guess is BBC switches betwen the two and for AC3 broadcast you will get the audio description stream. Again you can go to mono to play these files.

A 100MB sample on megaupload would be very handy. I probably have to use the "NAR" description too.

I'm on a Gbit Lan conection, so that shouldn't be an issue. I've uploaded a 67MB sample file to megaupload. It's just a bit of random recording. When I play it on my B110, it has no sound for about 10 secs. Even once the sound starts, it pops and drops out from time to time. It plays perfectly in mono and has both 1/2 and 2/2 sound tracks when I press the PCH Audio key. Unfortunately, there isn't an audio subtitle on this clip. I will try to grab one and upload that later.

Also attached is the dumpts.txt from immediately after playing this file.

Actually, just another observation, if I hit pause straight away (before the audio kicks in) then wait a couple of seconds, and then play, it plays the audio fine for a few seconds and then starts to stutter as though something isn't keeping up. Another pause and play will do the same.

Thanks, I will look at it this evening. It does sound like a prebuffer or bandwidth issue. To confirm, you are using "TS Mon" and not "Full TS" as the demux, mvpmcx2 uses the software client demux and definitely cannot support Full TS bandwidth.

Neither actually - Cyberlink - It's the only one that works reliably with my MVP's. Unless you can now advise otherwise.

I've just tested it with the TS-mux and it behaved in exactly the same way as with the cyberlink one.

Thanks for your help with this Martin. I'll be around for another 5 or 6 hours if you need anything providing.

Now that I think about it, h264 files must always be recorded as ts files or you wouldn't even have the dumpts.txt file. I assume sub sets it to TS Mon by default too.

One thing you could try (the bitrate shown in dumpts.txt is scary) would be to pass a recording through TSRemux http://www.videohelp.com/tools/TsRemux and select just the standard audio and video streams (hopefully 5500/5501 are selecte) just to see if the problem is the number of streams in the file.
