Dear sirs

Thank you so much for this great program.
I live in Montenegro, we do not have possibility
to use any of these advanced features like program
guide EPG...

Anyway, here is the problem...I use (excellent, I beleive)
Saaphire Theatrix 550 card and I would like to use external tuner from my old good Panasonic VHS, and to connect external signal via composite input. I just installed GBPVR, (latest) and everything looks fine, I have set-up capture sources I think correctly (no EPG, Analog Recording PlugIn-Composite...etc...). I have started then PVRX2 (main program)....and now...what to do?

How to set simplest manual recording from VHS (external tuner)?

I try to go on RECORDINGS "page", and select Manual Rec, but program set me back on main page, just like I select Main Menu. Also on other "tabs" of program, I was
unable to find any way to start (or set-up start-stop)
recording from VHS (tape and/or tuner).

Please, would you be so kind to give us small simple
tutorial how to perform simplest GBPVR action of
manual recording from VHS...without channel list, without
any of powerfull GBPVR function. Well, we really will be happy to use all these nice feature, but here we are very lucky just to have good signal...

Many thanks in advance, all the best.

You probably have no channels setup. In your capture source manually add a channel. Maybe call it something like 'Composite'.

That said, GB-PVR isnt the best type of app for dubbing VHS tables. Its designed around television so really needs channels and proper EPG etc to get the most out of it.

Works!
Perfect!

Now I will play a little bit with some
settings...(not sure about bitrate
because if you use hardware MPEG encoding,
you can use only non-fractional increment,
and GBPVR offers 5.300 for bitrate in high mode,
also, 10 minutes increments for start-stop time...)
but it is WORKS!

Many Thanks!
Warmest regards!

You can type in any time you want. It just increments in 10 minute units when you press the left/right buttons.

Many thanks!
Really minor problem with 10 minutes left-right
key increments...GBPVR works great! I have really
huge problems with software related to Saaphire
Theatrix 550. Hardware part is really good, but software
support is old 550 problem. ATI MMC does not work
on my PC (some conflict with sound card), but GBPVR
returns smile...!

Anyway, I have encounter some issue...When you fresh
install Theatrix driver(s) and GBPVR program, GBPVR make first recording in sime distorted way, I think he started to record in NTSC as default.
So I need to start Windows movie maker, select input
source,...>>>...,just to see incoming picture signal
(from composite). Then close Windows movie maker,
start GBPVR, and everything works ok, make recording
on PAL B/G. I have to do every time when I want to do
some recording. It seems to me that GBPVR cannot keep setup PAL TV standard correctlly.

It is not a big problem, but I have to start Windows movie maker every time after PC reboot (or power-on) before start recording on GBPVR.

Warmerst Regards

I dont know. Maybe you could try editing direct.ini file to set ForceStandard=16. The app shouldnt have to do that, but maybe it'll help.
