I use GBPVR many years on my (Windows) PC mainly as PVR after (automatically) skipping the commercials with comskip.

Installing mvpmcx2 with CSI is a peace of cake. On my NMT GBPVR works well but I can't exit mvpmcx2, except reboot the NMT ;-( The power button of the Egreat M34A remote (the red one in the top corner) switch off the NMT (no standby feature). After purchasing the Egreat M34A I discovered that the remote Control of the Egreat M34A missing many keys (F.i. the colored keys too).

The "exit button" on the (client) GBPVR main menu isn't available and the exit button in "system" doesn't work. How can I exit mvpmcx2 (GBPVR) with the RC of my NMT (Egreat M34A)?

Some time ago we requested to have the "Exit" menu option available for the PCH, but I don't know if sub responded possitive towards this. That would be a solution to your problem, but you could also try another remote. Check out the forum for possible remotes.

I'm using a standard Hauppauge remote that comes with many of their devices - pvr150, MVP etc etc and with Martins update for lirc it works a treat with the PCH (possibly the egreat as well???) From this post, the MCE remote would appear to work.

However, I don't know if the exit function is intercepted before it powers it off.

Chris

If an another remote for the M34A is the only solution then I prefer a Logitech Harmony to replace my other remotes as well. Besides this is the main reason to start this thread ;-)

Thanks for dropping by. For the next update I will work out some combination that will return to the NMT for EGreat users, although I think a lot of people would like to see an Exit option.

I also plan on having the Info button duplicate the blue key function. The reason for asking for this thread is for M34a users to identify any other remote problems. I didn't know about the power key issue until today.

You must have missed me mentioning it in that big long ramble I posted about my experience with my M34a but I did mention it :p

The EGreat remote works very well with PCH2 apart from the missing couloured buttons & the "next/skip" "prev/replay" being a long way away from the "fwd" "rev/rew" buttons & the "power" button turning the NMT off rather than going back to the built in NMT screen.

When the next version of GBPVR is out, I will release a new version of mvpmcx2 that will return you to the NMT screen if you hit the USB Eject Key (top left) twice. Info will also show the Blue key information on the file. Hopefully this will make them equivalent.

As for Hi-Jack's story that is bad news but let's hope there is more to it. I'm pretty sure Syabas would have had to compile the source for their older generation machines.

mvpmcx2 has been updated with these two changes to help correct missing keys on the M34a remote

To get back to the main NMT menu hit USB-Eject twice
The Info key is mapped to the Blue button on the PCH remote
