OK I'm losing it The plugin says it has learned the digit codes -- I can see the blaster sending some of the digits to the STB as the display changes but it immediately pops back to the channel I started on. 1, 2 & 4 does not seem to register at all. Is there some other way I can get the blaster to send channel changes without resorting to HIP or IR server or the like. All the other remote functions work well enough just cant get it to change channels as it does not seem to be sending the codes it learned from my STB remote. I am hoping there is some way to set these in another way. I think that it is really not learning the keys at all.

I have an HP USB ir receiver blaster that registers in Devices under Human Interface Devices as an ehome IR trancever and under USB as an ehome IR receiver

The HP remote has number N279 on it and registers in devices under Human Interface Devices as an ehome IR remote comsumer Controls

What plug-in are you using?

I have made a GBPVR channel change plugin to work with my LM Remote KeyMap software, you may have better success for learning IR codes with it... (for some users LM RKM was the only software that was successfully learning and blasting with MCE blaster)

It wants a user name and password to d/l the plug in from there -- is it already on the forum or wiki somewhere?

You need a donator account to download the plug-in. Though you can download LM Remote KeyMap first to verify that you can learn IR codes and blast them successfully to your set top box.

Any one know if this would work to control both channels of a PVr-500?
http://www.irblaster.info/
Specifically the
Double Headed MythTV LIRC RS232 IR Blaster
Two Standard IR Heads connected to one DB9

It should work provided you use the right channel changer plug-in.

Though you should be able to easily control two STB with your MCE blaster... Have your tried learning with LM Remote KeyMap or not?

What is the current channel change plug-in you are using?

Stéphane.

Well heres the thing I found a site that told me the hex codes for the exact remote I am using for my motorola dct2234. I have been trying to figure a way to just enter then directly. 0 0x0000
enter 0x8807
So I been a little distracted by that. Also On the site for LM REMOTE it wants me to log in but I cant find a button to sign up if you dont already have an acct. Will look again later today.

HIP can use those pre-mapped files, that box is a real bugger for anybody to learn...
i assume those are pronto remote code files...
[the only real large database of remote code files]
there may be some conversion needed to use directly, but i think he added ability to use them directly in latest version...
just an alternative...Smile

hmm, those sound like the microsoft remote codes...for receiving...[for the remote itself, not the stb]
not sure how you could use those...have a link to where you found them?
